Busy Times at Team Subaru USA

Sorry it’s taken so long to get round to doing this latest blog but to say it’s been busy is not even close to how it has been for the Subaru USA team and Vermont Sports Car.
The guys are all working so hard this year as the Rally X events were added during the rally season and not at the end of the year as we all thought.
This has had a major effect on all in the team as they have had to design and build a rally X car in such a short time, this did mean a delay in me getting the new Impreza VT10 but that will now be out for the next event.
I would love to be doing the Rally X events but until we can get the car sorted fully we are only taking one car and my team mate Dave Mirra is driving it although I do get to do the testing.
The team back at Vermont are working so hard to make all these new cars and along with this we have been busy with some TV shows. It’s not until you go to the States until you get an idea how big and how far the events are apart! We are lucky that we have such a good team who are putting so much time into making this work, there is a lot of travel and when we are on events there is always a team of guys back at Vermont working round the clock.
Below is an idea of what I have been up over the last few weeks:
29th Feb returned home from 100 Acre wood rally (not happy being second)
11th March, left home at 2am to drive to London to get flight to LA for TV show, arrived on site at 5.30pm and started the intros for TV show, left for hotel at 12.45 after over 28 hours from start of trip.
12th March TV filming all day till 11pm
13th March as above then left to get to hotel by LAX airport
14th March Fly home and got to UK at 5am on the 15th March then car trip home.
21st March 2am start again as flying to LA to test for RallyX
22nd Test delayed for Rally X
23rd set up for rally X
24th My sons Matthew birthday and I am testing new Rally X car. Finish test then fly home
25th arrive home.
26th Matthews’s football party.
30th Fly from Manchester to Newark then fly to Seattle for TV shoot with BF Goodrich.
31st Filming all day and having fun doing hot laps driving my STI rally car.
1st April Fly home and return home on the second, drive home pick family up and go and watch round 2 of the British rally championship.

As you can see there is a lot of travel, as well as the above I have been doing rally school on the days between these dates and doing all my training.
The best way I can think to pay all the team for all the work they have been doing is to go out and give the VT10 its first win on the next rally. Before then though I travel to Seattle for a test in the new Rally X car on the 12th, more air miles !!!
